Glot'kuleth, Demon King of Subjugation

Glot'kuleth, Demon King of Subjugation, Lash of Sha-Nulthe, Golden Calf of Cruelty.

Glot'kuleth is one of the Six Demon Kings of Ulgu. Each is a pinnacle of Slaanesh's ideals to excess and depravity. Each excels in their pursuit of unnatural desire and corruption. Glot'kuleth is the paragon of Slaanesh's need to subjugate those within his power. Those beneath Glot'kuleth's heal writhe in humiliating bondage as his whims dictate the punishments to which they are subjected.

During the Age of Myth as the chaos gods sent their favored servants into those lands which they coveted best Slaanesh sent His six Demon Kings into Ulgu to carve out kingdoms dedicated to depravity and dominance. Through corruption and outrageous violence Glot'kuleth dominated an area within the Third Dominion that now stretches from Stormfall Peak to the Everdeep Sea at the realm's edge. Gluthirst is the shinning jewel of Glot'kuleth's kingdom and no excess is denied or taboo within its confines. The corruption and perversion of the city spreads far beyond its walls into the surrounding hamlets. Innocents are hunted by the perverse as they flee through shadowy forests echoing with exotic birds and the cries of twisted beasts. Slaangor roam the dark fields and forests unhindered.

Schools dedicated to all major forms of the Dance of the Wailing Blade can be found within the kingdom and regular tournaments are held within the court to display the deadliness of the Myrmidesh's killing arts. Each school vies for the court's favor and the recognition of its own form as superior to others.

Beast of Nurgle

Finally painted one of my favorite miniatures of all time. The Beast of Nurgle. I love this model and I love its fluff every bit as much. Who doesn't love an enthusiastic slug-puppy covered in caustic slime with writhing tentacles on its head?

Grimgristle Beetlesucker

T'lowg'grh Dh'erg'z
Grimgristle Beetlesucker
Greater Daemon of Nurgle

Grimgristle Beetlesucker is a Great Unclean One summoned by the Yellow King to help him bring the Plaguefather's gifts to the Mortal Realms. However, due to his immense power he is more akin to a partner than a servant. Together with Gutrot Spume the three lead the armies of Nurgle across the land, sea and air. Grimgristle's demonic armies include many plague drones and swarms of plague flies that darken the skies and obscure his plaguebearers' advance. Grimgristle's very breath is lousy with plague flies that, at close range, ravage the bodies of those that oppose Nurgle's gifts. Another power that Grimgristle possess that makes his armies so deadly is his ability to twist time around his followers. As a daemon he exists outside of time and so he can manipulate it to speed his normally ponderous minions along their way to spread the Grandfather's blessings. Many armies have fallen due to their belief that Nurgle's daemons are slow and plodding. Grimgristle finds the shocked look on their faces to be quite humorous.

I used the name generator in Slaves to Darkness to generate his true name and his use name. The rest just wrote itself. He is one of my leaders for my newest Nurgle army. The army is built in three parts. The "land" army is lead by the Yellow King and his subordinate the Red Duke and is predominantly made up of Blightkings. The "Sea" portion is lead by Gutrot Spume and his first mate and consists of primarily Blightkings and chaos spawn. The "Air" army is lead by Grimgristle Beetlesucker and consists mainly of Plague Drones and Plaguebearers.

Mamon, daemon prince of Nurgle

When I traded to get this model it was already painted. The paint job wasn't too bad, it just wasn't that good. It has been a while since I have painted a Nurgle model and this one was pretty easy and fun to do so I primed him up and went to town. I wish all models were this easy to do.

Our Lady of Depravity

I decided to take a small break from Death to paint some Slaanesh models for a distant army project. I love this sculpted and had to get it to use as a Keeper of Secrets since I find all but the original sculpts of the Keeper of Secrets to be terrible. I have high hopes for the new one coming out. I may relegate her to a Daemon Prince once it comes out depending on how much I like the new Keeper of Secrets. Until then I think she will do nicely. Hope you like her as much as I do.

My first retcon

A while ago I created a large Dark Mechanicus model named Inquisitor Matthias Balthasar Harnak  . The model I converted was unfortunately broken while I was at work one day and subsequently left in a box in pieces. Unfortunately I could not find all his pieces so I had to reassemble him in new ways. With this new creation and my "new" army I decided to retcon his backstory, which I will keep for another model to be created.

Justinian Lorme was once a techmarine for the XIVth legion, the Death Guard. He was chiefly in charge of maintaining the mechanisms related to containment of the deadly biological weapons of the legion. After the Heresy Lorme's interests began to lead to the forbidden field of warp technology as well augmentic surgery which was usually left to the apothecaries of the legion. Lorme was no longer interested in simple machines and began to combine flesh with technology in disturbing ways. He also began researching the demon engines of the Dark Mechanicum. Now millennia later he has ascended to demonic heights for his contribution to Nurgle's cause. Throughout the millennia of the Long War Lorme has augmented his body beyond that of even the Death Guard plague marines physique. He now towers above those who serve him. His distain for the Poxwalkers often employed by other members of the Death Guard is shown by his chosen form of locomotion. Fit only as fuel for his experiments Poxwalkers find no place among his armies.

Death Guard Defiler

I've never liked the defiler model. I've always like the soulgrinder model better even though they use the same leg assembly. I just don't like how boxy it looks. So I decided to convert one for use in my Death Guard army since they are one of the few daemon engines that can be given the Death Guard keyword. I'm pleased with how it turned out, but I'm having difficulty with what colors to paint it. Here it is fully converted and primed.

Foetid Bloat-drone

I've just finished my first Foetid Bloat-drone from the Dark Imperium starter box. It is fun to paint. The next one I will paint may have some more color to it's armor, or it may just have different color flesh.

Brotherhood of the Crow part 27

Here is where I am at with the Brotherhood of the Crow. A great bunch of guys. This project is coming along nicely. I need to get a champion on a palanquin to represent Mortimer, the Baron of Crows. The only unit fully done is the "D3 Plaguebearers" so I have a long way to go yet. There are several units I don't have a single model for, but its a lot easier to paint as you go than have a pile of models waiting to be painted. It feels a lot better to have everything you own for an army painted. I have four more Nurgling stands and five more goblins waiting for paint. After that it's "paint as I get them".

Genestealer Cult of Nurgle part 3

You can't have a Nurgle genestealer cult without Nurgle. I just finished striping and repainting my Great Unclean One for my genestealer cult. I was going to use him for 3rd ed fantasy, but its really difficult to take one in a chaos army, except for a daemon army, so I decided to use him for Rogue Trader instead.

Nurgle's Trinity. The Great, Great Grandfather, Great, Great Grandson and the Unholy Daemon.

Brotherhood of the Crow part 23

Putridsore and Wormrot are finished and have joined their place in the "Chaos Creatures" queue waiting for me to roll a 94-95 on a D100.

Also I just noticed that I missed adding blood to one of Wormrot's wounds. I'll fix that.

Brotherhood of the Crow part 22

Added some highlights to the plaguebearers.

Brotherhood of the Crow part 21

So, I decided to borrow Stuart's idea over at the Lost and the Very Damned and create a "Creatures of Chaos table challenge" for myself. But I am sure it will turn into a "cry because there is no way I can come close to completing this challenge" challenge. My first completed entry will be 94-95 "D3 Plaguebearers."
Here are my second and third plaguebearers for the challenge, Putridsore and Wormrot.

After the plaguebearers I'll be doing entry 98-100 "D6 Nurgling Bases." Since that is the only other entry I currently own the models for.

Nurgle Oldhammer Warband part 14

All done with Plaguescum. Such fun to paint.

Nurgle Oldhammer Warband part 13

I'm painting up some plaguebearers for my warband/army just in case I roll them as rewards for my champion or on the Creatures of Chaos chart. Introducing Plaguescum the Plaguebearer. I'm still working on his skin and I haven't started on his base yet. Very much still a work in progress. I've always thought his face looks like an orc's. I decided to paint it with a bit of pink to help it stand out.

Nurgle Oldhammer Warband part 12

Here are the first three bases of Nurglings for my warband.

Nurgle Oldhammer Warband part 11

Since my chaos warriors unit is temporarily on hold I've been working on a unit of Nurglings. Nurgle is the only chaos army that can include daemons without having to summon them. Nurglings are one of my favorite daemon units because of their cute, mischievous nature. I have to transfer the Nurglings I have from round bases to square, since they were originally used in my 40k army. I originally bought them from a roommate, who had attached them to round resin bases. They are more solidly attached to their bases than any miniature I've ever seen so I'm having to cut the bases apart.
Luckily some of the Nurglings I have I bought myself in the 90s so those I've managed to rebase easily since they were just on a normal plastic round base. I've started by painting those up first.

Gallows Demon

So, I started and finished a new project. I finally got my hands on the beautiful treewoman by Ultraforge. She is amazing and there are lots of pictures of her on the internet. So I felt compelled to put a new spin on her and make her into a demon for Warhammer 40k. I'll be using her as either a Bloodthirster or a Lord of Change. I painted her in about two and a half hours. The only part I airbrushed was the nooses, because they more around when you touch them and it was impossible to paint them by hand, I did some washes on them though.
